Project co-funded by European Funds
CODE QUEST Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością (a limited liability company) is carrying out the project titled “A multi-sensor system for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) using fusion of acoustic, radio and visual data”. The project is co-funded by the European Union under the European Funds for a Modern Economy (Fundusze Europejskie dla Nowoczesnej Gospodarki) 2021–2027 programme, Priority V. Support for projects delivering the objectives of the STEP initiative, Measure 05.01 Critical Technologies Support Fund.
Project objective
The objective of the project is to develop and demonstrate a civilian multi-sensor system for detecting drones (UAS), using real-time fusion of acoustic, radio and visual data. The solution under development is intended to support the security of infrastructure and public spaces by enabling the monitoring and detection of flying objects in real-world conditions.
Scope of activities
The project will carry out experimental development work including, among other things:
- development of acoustic, radio and visual detection methods and models
- signal analysis and development of machine learning algorithms
- development of prototype acoustic, acoustic-radio and acoustic-radio-visual sensors
- creation of a backend system for receiving, synchronising and analysing data from distributed sensors
- development of an information fusion and results visualisation module
- preparation of user applications, including a web application and mobile applications
- a pilot covering a network of at least 50 devices deployed at various locations
Target groups
The project is aimed at civilian public administration and local government institutions, critical infrastructure operators, airports, ports, industrial plants, energy facilities, services responsible for public space security, as well as commercial entities involved in UAS traffic management (UTM/U-space) and Smart City solutions.
Planned project outcomes
The outcome of the project will be a working technology demonstrator capable of detecting and classifying drones in near real time. The solution will contribute to building national competencies in sensor data analysis, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) for public safety, drone traffic management and airspace protection.
